Learn how to use the Waves OVox Vocal ReSynthesis / vocoder plugin to convert your vocal performances and recordings to MIDI notation in REAPER.
Create a new audio track and import or record the vocal signal.
Search for OVox in your insert plugins list and open it on the audio track.
Turn on ‘Midi Out’ in the OVox ‘Synth Settings’ tab.
Create a new track and arm it for recording.
Click the channel’s ‘in’ menu. Select ‘output (MIDI)’ as your recording source.
Create a send from the Voice channel into the MIDI channel. Choose which bus you would like to use (in this case, B1). Make sure your send is Pre-Fader if you would like to mute the Voice channel.
Inside OVox, use ‘Tolerance” to control the density of the created MIDI notes. You can also use the Note Mapper to fit the notes into scales, generate chords & harmonies or apply the built-in arpeggiator.
