Learn how to set up multiple SoundGrid DSP servers in the Waves SuperRack SoundGrid live plugin host, to add more plugin processing power and balance your server workload.
As of SuperRack SoundGrid V13, you can assign multiple SoundGrid servers to SuperRack SoundGrid, each with an optional redundant fallback server – for a total of four active and four redundant servers.
Once assigned, specific racks in SuperRack SoundGrid can be assigned to one of four processing groups.
Additionally, you can now balance and adjust your server workload as your processing requirements change and increase.
How to assign multiple servers in SuperRack SoundGrid:
In the Setup tab, under Port, choose the host computer’s LAN port that is used for SoundGrid. When a valid SoundGrid Port is recognized, the link status will show “Up” and the speed should show 1GBps.
Still in the Setup tab, in the I/O, Devices, Hosts and Servers panel.

Assign Server A to Group A
Assign Servers B-D to Groups B-D
Optional: Assign a redundant server to one or both groups.
When using a redundant server, it is highly recommended that the active server and its accompanying redundant server be of the same model and generation.
All processing racks are automatically assigned to group A. Now, it’s up to you to allocate specific processing racks according to your tasks, needs and preferences.
Assign specific processing racks to groups B-D via:
Rack Menu
Below the Channel input assignment in the Rack or Overview tabs.
Important Notes:
Group A must be populated with a server. (If you only have one server – it must be assigned to group A.)
You can re-assign racks in bulk to a different server group, using ‘Link Groups’.
The server network buffer value will always be identical for both servers.
On DiGiCo mirrored setups, the two mirrored setups must have the same number of servers. (When using a redundant server, it is highly recommended that the active server and its accompanying redundant server be of the same model and generation).
