"Loading Issue" or "Missing File" Error in Maschine
Jun 24, 2024
If you encounter a "Loading Issue" or a "Missing File" error message while loading your Waves plugins or instruments in Maschine, follow these instructions to make them available.
Step #1 – Verify plugin software is correctly installed
Check whether the relevant plugin file/s are correctly installed on your computer.
Go to: Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V15, (or whichever version is installed on your device, V14-V9) Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Waves > Plug-Ins V15, (or whichever version is installed on your device, V14-V9)
The relevant plugin file will be named after the plugin, in this format: [PluginName].bundle. For example, the plugin file for Reel ADT will be named Reel ADT.bundle.
To check if the files for integration with Machine are installed, go to the following locations and check if a folder for the relevant plugin exists:
For Waves Instruments: Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Data\Instrument Data\NKS Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Waves > Data > Instrument Data > NKS
For Waves effect plugins: Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Data\NKS FX Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > Waves > Data > NKS FX
If the plugins you are looking for are not in any or one of these locations, install the plugins by following the instructions in this link.
Step #2 — Rescan your Waves instruments and Plugins
For V13-V9 plugins to show up in your DAW, their license must be activated. If you installed V14 plugins (or higher) or Waves Creative Access, you can skip this step.
Check whether the relevant plugin or bundle license/s are activated on your computer or USB Flash Drive:
Launch Waves Central via Applications > Waves Central.
Log into Waves Central using your Waves account information.
Select the Licenses page.
Select the Connected Devices tab. Use the arrow on the right to expand the list.
Check if the missing plugin/s license are activated on this connected device.
If the plugins are not activated, check if they appear in the Not Activated tab. If that’s the case, select the license/s and click ‘Activate’.
If the plugin licenses are not found in the Not Activated tab, check if they appear in a device in the Disconnected Devices tab. If that's the case, refer to this article.
Step #3 — Rescan your Waves instruments and Plugins
If the relevant plugin files are in the above folder, perform a rescan:
Windows
In Maschine, go to File > Preferences > Library and click on Rescan.
Once the scan is done, go to Preferences > Plug-ins, click on the Locations tab and make sure that the following path is listed (if not, add it):
For V14 Plugins (or higher): C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
For V13-V9 Plugins: C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins
In the same Plug-ins window, click on Rescan.
Mac
In Maschine, go to File > Preferences > Library and click on Rescan.
Once the scan is done, go to Preferences > Plug-ins, click on the Locations tab and make sure that the following path is listed (if not, add it):
For V14 Plugins (or higher): Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > VST3
For V13-V9 Plugins: CMacintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > VST
