In 1992, Dr. Dre introduced “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” as the lead single to his debut album; The Chronic. The song’s infectious groove was sampled from the 1975 Leon Haywood song; “I Want’a Do Something Freaky To You”.

Nuthin But a ‘G’ Thang would go on to be one of the most influential tracks of the ‘90s and, according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, one of the 500 songs that shaped rock and roll. It’s the song that brought West Coast G-Funk hip hop to the masses and made rapper Snoop Dogg a household name.
