If you encounter the following message in the Waves Tune plugin: “ReWire link cannot be established; Please check your settings,” please follow these steps.
If your host is not mentioned in this article, it does not support ReWire. Waves Tune still works in any supported host, but without rewire, you won’t be able to control your host’s timeline from inside Waves Tune’s interface.
Pro Tools
In Pro Tools, the Waves ReWire plugin must be inserted to allow full sync with Pro Tools’ transport and timeline. Since the Waves ReWire plugin has no audio output, you should insert it into an auxiliary track so that it doesn’t use a valuable voice.
Create a new Aux track.
In an empty insert slot, go to the “Instruments” category.
Select the Waves ReWire plugin.
If the message persists, either open a new instance of Waves Tune or relaunch Pro Tools.
Logic Pro
In Logic Pro, ReWire has to be enabled in Settings for Waves Tune to see it:
Go to Logic Pro > Settings > Audio > Devices tab.
Set the ReWire Behavior to Live Mode.
Click Apply.
Quit Logic Pro and relaunch it.
Please note: the option to enable ReWire is not available on Apple Silicon processors.
REAPER
In REAPER, the Waves ReWire plugin must be inserted to allow full sync with REAPERs transport and timeline:
Go to the Add FX menu > ReWire.
Select Waves ReWire.
Click OK.
If the message persists, either open a new instance of Waves Tune or relaunch REAPER.
