Waves Host Applications — Full Screen on HD/UHD Resolution (Windows 10)
Nov 01, 2021
To display V10 or V11 SuperRack, eMotion LV1, SoundGrid Studio in full screen on HD & UHD (4K) resolution display monitors on Windows 10, either update to V12.8 which supports auto-scaling, or follow these steps:
First, change the host application’s compatibility settings
If the host application (SuperRack, eMotion LV1, MultiRack or SoundGrid Studio) is running, quit it.
Right-click on the host’s desktop shortcut or on the application icon located in: SuperRack – C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\SuperRack. LV1 – C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\eMotion LV1. SoundGrid Studio – C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\SoundGrid Studio. MultiRack – C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\MultiRack.
Click on Properties and select the Compatibility tab.
Under Settings, checkmark Override high DPI scaling behavior.
From the Scaling performed by drop-down menu, select System.
Then, change Windows display settings:
Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings.
Go to ‘Scale and Layout’ > ‘Change the size of text apps and other items,’ and experiment with different settings in the drop-down menu to find the most satisfying result.
This might not give you the final full screen for the application, but rather an indication of the desired range – between a setting that is too large and a setting the is ‘just almost.’
If necessary, click on ‘Advanced Scaling Settings,’ and under ‘Custom Scaling’ enter a value within the range identified above (each new custom setting requires to ‘Apply’ and then sign out of the Windows user and back in again).
Launch the host application and check if the full screen setting indeed covers your entire screen. If it does not – please repeat step #8 again until you find satisfactory results.
Important Notes:
These settings are available on Windows “Creators Update” (version 1703 build 15063.483 and later).
Other elements that use system scaling (desktop icons, menus, text etc.) will be affected, including other applications.
SoundGrid Studio and eMotion LV1 will require the same settings for full screen, while SuperRack requires a lower setting.
